Britton Orthodontics is thrilled to introduce Dr. Polczynski, an orthodontist who joined our team in 2023!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in rural Southern Illinois on my family dairy farm. Fun fact, there's a (much) higher number of cows than humans in a 5-mile radius! My house was surrounded by fields and my nearest neighbor was at least a field away.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always said I wanted to be a teacher like my mom or a doctor (oral surgeon) like my uncle. After I had braces myself, I knew what I really wanted to be was an orthodontist.

How do you pronounce your name?

It's pronounced, "Pole-chin-ski."

What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?

Weekend plans and adventures are my favorite! I love hopping on a plane for short getaways with my husband and daughter or staying around San Antonio, going to dinner at our favorite restaurants, and going to Spurs games.

What do you love most about being an Orthodontist?

I love to see the transformation in kids; there's so much changing with them naturally, add braces into the mix, and it's such a huge change at the end of treatment! With adults, I love getting to know them and their story all while improving their self-confidence with a beautiful smile.

What kind of music do you like? Do you have a favorite artist?

I love country-folk, and my favorite artists right now are Zach Bryan and Charles Wesley Godwin.

What’s your most-used productivity hack?

Early morning wake-ups! I love starting the morning early to work out and knock out a few items on my to-do list. Having this done before the sun rises is a sure way to start my day with the right mindset and on the right track to be productive.

What show are you currently binge-watching?

We just finished Ted Lasso and loved it!

What do you love most about San Antonio?

I love that it's a big city with a small town feel. It has great proximity to smaller surrounding towns and the airport is perfect for all of my weekend travels. I also love the food - you've gotta try Honchos House of Churros - and bringing all of our visitors to the Pearl!

Tell us three random things/fun facts your patients may not know about you!

1. I played golf in college and love to still play today. The Quarry is my favorite course in San Antonio.
2. In college I studied abroad in Ireland and took a film studies course.
3. I volunteered at the US Open in 2014 at Pinehurst as a Standard Bearer, and on the last day I got to walk with Rory McIlroy."
