From festivals and concerts to summer camps and events for the kids, these summer activities will help everyone in your family explore new activities and make memories!

This weekly storytime at the San Antonio Botanical Garden features different nature-themed books to stimulate young minds and foster an appreciation for the great outdoors. Bring a blanket to sit on during storytime! Recommended for ages 5 and under.

Magik Theatre’s Production of The BFG
May 4 – June 2, 2024
Adapted for the stage from the beloved book by Roald Dahl, this exciting performance shares the magical story of Sophie and her new friend, the Big Friendly Giant, and their goal of collecting and distributing good dreams to children! The Big Friendly Giant promises to deliver a captivating mix of thrilling adventures, playful wordplay, and even some explosive whizzpopping moments guaranteed to make you smile!
The Magik Theatre is located in Hemisfair Park so you can fill your day with lots of fun! Check out the Calendar of Events to see dates and times for family Story Time, Zumba in the Park, and even a Bubbles Everywhere event on May 11!

Full STEAM Ahead at the Briscoe Western Art Museum
May 5, June 2, July 7, and August 4, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Join the fun at the Briscoe’s monthly education series every first Sunday of the month this summer and beyond! With changing themes each month like Western Pop Art in May and Fireworks in July, all ages can engage in hands-on STEAM learning!
Cost: Free for Bexar County residents, children 12 & under, and museum members! Included with general museum admission for non-locals and nonmembers.
Pick Your Own Peaches at Jenschke Orchards
May - September 2024
Strawberry season is coming to a close, but early summer is when peaches are ripe for picking, and Jenschke Orchards is happy to host your family for some peach-picking fun! There is a “Pick Your Own” orchard as well as a variety of tasty canned goods, fresh cobblers, homemade ice cream, farm eggs, and fresh produce in their store.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party

Don’t miss this opportunity to watch your favorite Monster Trucks come to life! This Glow Party production features a laser light show, spectacular theatrical effects, dance parties, and Hot Wheels toy giveaways!

Enjoy the spectacle of magically illuminated boats that float throughout the downtown River Walk each night! Floats will depict different light themes and have illuminated props. Find your favorite spot along the River Walk downtown to watch the parade!
